Tip #1: Don't floor it. A single second of pedal-to-the-metal driving can produce almost the same volume of carbon monoxide emissions as 30 minutes of normal driving.
Tip #2: Inflate your tires. Tires will lose as much as 1 pound of pressure per month, so check the air pressure regularly and before long road trips.
Tip #3: Don't top off your tank. Spilled gasoline can leak into the groundwater.
Tip #4: Find a nice shady spot to park. Keep your car cool and you will slow the evaporation of fuel.
